Definition: A pronoun is a word that is used instead of
a noun, for example, he, she, it, I, they, you, them, we, us, his, him etc.
Exercise on pg. 12
Rewrite each of the sentences, replacing a noun
with a pronoun wherever possible.
2. Meera looked at the hill in the distance. She wanted to climb
it.
3. The teacher told her students that they must listen carefully
to what she told them.
4. Sohaib was Zia’s son, but they had never met.
5. Jim wanted to play and so he looked for his bat and ball.
6. When Jim was walking
down the road, a boy waved to him from the other side of the road, but he
could not remember where he had met that boy before.
7. Arham must not tease the dog, because it might bite him.
8. Asim and Qasim are brothers. They fight with each other all
the time.
9. Once upon a time, a man and his wife lived
near the sea. They were very poor. The man went out fishing every day, but he

Possessive Adjectives:
The words – my, our, your, his, her, its, their, -- are
possessive forms of the personal pronouns.
In case, a noun--- books, dog, shoes, watch, hair, paw, toys, is
needed to make the sense complete. They are therefore called possessive
adjectives.
Possessive Pronouns:
The words—mine, ours, yours, his, hers, theirs—are also
possessive forms of the personal pronouns. These possessive forms are called
possessive pronouns.

Why is the population density not the same in all the provinces of Pakistan?
A.
Baluchistan is the largest province of Pakistan by area, only 5 percent of
the population lives there. Punjab, on the other hand, has more than half the
population. Sindh has about quarter, and less than one fifth live in the
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
